Migrating NZOUG’s Website to Wix and Preparing for the New Societies Act

The New Zealand Oracle Users Group (NZOUG) has been a key community for Oracle professionals in New Zealand, providing networking opportunities, knowledge sharing, and industry insights. As we move forward, we are embracing two significant changes: migrating our website from WordPress to Wix and preparing for the new Societies Act. Here’s what this means for our members.

Website Migration: A New Digital Experience

Our website serves as the primary hub for our community, providing event details, industry updates, and resources for Oracle users. We have recently migrated from WordPress to Wix to offer a more user-friendly and modern experience.

Why the Change?

  • Ease of Use:** Wix provides a more intuitive and flexible interface, making it easier for our team to update content and engage with our members.

  • Improved Design:** The new platform allows for a sleeker, more responsive design, enhancing accessibility on both desktop and mobile devices.

  • Enhanced Features:** With Wix, we can integrate better event management, membership tools, and communication features to serve our community more effectively.

We encourage members to explore the new website and share any feedback as we continue refining it.

Preparing for the New Societies Act

In addition to our digital transformation, we are also ensuring compliance with the new Societies Act in New Zealand, which introduces important updates for incorporated societies like NZOUG.

Key Changes We’re Addressing:

  • Updated Constitution:** We are reviewing and updating our constitution to align with the new legal requirements.

  • Governance Improvements:** The Act requires clearer governance structures, which we are incorporating to ensure transparency and accountability.

  • Membership Rules:** Changes to member rights and responsibilities mean we need to refine our processes to keep everything aligned with the new legislation.

We will provide regular updates on our progress and what these changes mean for our members.

What’s Next?

As we finalize our website improvements and adapt to the new legal requirements, we remain committed to supporting our community with valuable resources and events. Stay tuned for more updates, and feel free to reach out with any questions or suggestions!

Thank you for being part of NZOUG’s journey. Let’s move forward together!
